Mama's 65th Birthday

Feeling so tired after a weeklong of preparing for mama’s birthday. But it ‘s worth it.

Today is her 65th birthday at the same time her testimonial party because she already retired from work.

I know many love her. But what happened to her testimonial party is beyond my expectations. I never thought she had touch lives of many people. I’m not the celebrant, I’m not my mother, but I am so overwhelmed with all the testimonies. I consider her as the Cory Aquino in our place. Hehehe……

I’m so proud with her!

I love you ma and happy birthday!

Best of Times

I realized lately that I haven’t worn a watch for a decade. Maybe it’s one of the reasons why I do not manage my time well. Actually, I’m using the clock of my mobile phone. Meaning I should always bring my mobile phone wherever I go. And often, I look my phone to monitor the time, which I think it’s not good to always peek on it especially during classes and meetings, because it could be misinterpreted that I’m not listening (or just texting).

Now I’m urging myself to purchase a watch!!! (LOL…)

If I have tons of money maybe I’ll consider Best of Times, a.k.a Alex Jewelry. It’s an online store that sells new and pre-owned Rolex watches that comes with a genuine Rolex boxes. It’s 100% certified and authenticated with serial number.

According from a reliable source, Best of Times is a member of Better Business Bureau that gave the store a flying color of A+ Rating (for you information, A+ Rating is the highest possible rating a business can get). It is also considered as the Worlds Best Selection that offers Rolex Watch at a lowest price. Shipping is free through Fedex with a 3 year warranty. If you want to purchase a Rolex watch just visit www.bestoftime.com.

I have mentioned here that I’ll purchase it if I have tons of money. I even have my own choice when I visited the site, the Ladies Rolex Diamond Dial/Bezel White Gold. Well with my financial status, I honestly cannot afford it. But I tell you, your money worth it. For me, I consider it as an investment.

A New Chapter of Mama's Life

Mama will soon be retiring from work at age of 65. I know deep inside she still want to serve the government as an educator. But since it’s mandated that teacher’s shall retire at that age, so mama has no choice but to leave.

She’ll be facing another chapter of her life. A better life….

This time …

…… a longer praying time (which she usually do as early as 3 am) and do Shibashi exercise

…… more time with her plants. (Mama loves plants especially flowering plants)

…… write a book (I’m encouraging here to do blogging…)

….. maybe a part time college teacher

….. a facilitator on seminars (this is her talent and skill)

….. travel

And ….

…… a longer quality time with my father.

How about you? Do you have any suggestion activities for a retired teacher? Feel free to leave comments. Spiced up my life! Spiced up my mom’s life!

Judge It! (Updated)

I was invited to judge in a poster making contest last Saturday. I was hesitant at first since it’s my first time to judge a competition. However, I’m thrilled with the opportunity. Besides, it’s about poster making!!!! It’s about ART!!! I believe I’m capable to do my job and do the best decision.

Honestly I felt intimidated during the competition proper because two of the jurors were already experts and have been gone to national competition while I, was only a contestant during my high school years (Please don’t bother to ask me if I won. Hahaha…. ). Good thing it wasn’t hard to judge since there were only four contestants.

Anyway, I and the other jurors have a unanimous decision. (Guess who got the first place?)
Sorry for the poor quality of pic.
-------------
As I said, three of us (jurors) have unanimous decision.
1st place goes to entry no. 4
2nd - entry no. 3
3rd - entry no. 2
4th - entry no. 1

A Date with BF

My boyfriend and I had a great time today. We seldom see each other because he is working in the southern part of Davao and I’m in the northern part.

• We attended mass at the Divine Mercy Chapel. A place I considered one of my favorite; aside from the fact that our family is a devotee of Divine Mercy I also love the place because it’s located along the seashore. A place that reminds me of one my dreams that is to own a 5 to 10 hectares property along the seaside. With a recreational area, where people can spend special occasions; Part of it is the Family’s rest house where we can spend our summer and Christmas vacations; and part of it is a retreat place , a place tof reflect so mainly this includes a chapel.

The Divine Mercy Chapel. (click to enlarge the pic and view the beach)

Whew!!! Dreams... dreams... Dreams...

Back to reality...

• Then we played bowling. And as usual I won in the first game and came only second on the rest of the games. (poor me... LOL) . But I’m proud of myself because I strike the pinball on our second game. Yahooo!

• Of course my boyfriend can’t afford to send me home without filling my tummy. So we end up our day with a sumptuous dinner.

Decorating Cake

We had so much fun decorating cakes today. It’s actually my first time to do it. It’s quite expensive. But the money is worth it.
The materials were provided by Goldilocks; that includes chiffon cake, icing, and cake decorations. It was exciting and thrilling especially the part of decorating. And it’s time limited (20 mins).
Goldilocks  entertains us while waiting for the result.

Goldilocks will choose the best decorated, unique cake and clean. They will give freebies especially made from Goldilocks for those who will win.

We did not win the contest, but we are proud of our output.
Finish product..... you judge it!

Three Awards!!!

Every time I read posts about awards I was wondering if I will ever get one for my blog. I was newbie then and I don’t have friends who also blogs that could probably give those cute awards. Anyway I write not to receive awards but to express what’s in my mind.

Nevertheless, when I least expect it, I received awards. I never thought my virtual friends here in blogosphere will give me such adorable awards.

This is actually my second award from Faye. Faye has a very interesting entertaining blog called “My Life in Holland.”

Thanks a lot Faye.

Now I'm passing it to Abie, Sassychick, Geraldine, Emie, and Jeia.

Arizona

The name Arizona was derived from the Pima Indian Village of Arizonac. The word Arizonac probably means “place of small spring.” It is also known as Grand Canyon State.

Because of its wide range of elevation and relief, Arizona has a varied climate pattern. There are places that has cool to cold winters and warm summers or mild winters and hot summer. Currently the temperature of Arizona is about 80 ⁰F.

Because of the fine weather all year round, Arizona is considered as one of the fastest developing states in the US Sunbelt. Its mild weather has also attracted many industries because they can function all-year round. And probably it’s the biggest reason why many investors put in a real estate like Scottsdale real estate because Arizona is truly a breathtaking place to live all year round.

Ukay-Ukay

Guess how much is these pairs of footwears?

Mmmm.... Since from my title itself says it’s from ukay-ukay (used items) then I’ll guess you’ll give me a price of Php 70.00 or higher. Right?

Believe me, I got this two pairs of footwears for only Php 20.00 each. To cheap!!! But with ukay-ukay you really have to spend lot of effort and patient in looking for a pair of shoes that fits to your standards; style, durability, appeal (although it was already use), and comfort.

But sometimes it’s depressing, especially when you find the right one for you but the pair was lost or misplaced. So when you are face with this kind of scenario, you’ll only have to choose two options: leave the shoe and look for another pair or ready yourself to battle with mountain of ukay-ukay and do the rambling till you find the precious pair (LOL).
Good thing I found the pair easily.

A Yellow Ribbon for President Cory

I was riding a bus going to school when I heard about President Aquino’s death. I was teary eye then and I can feel the lump in my throat. I was saddened... I don’t know, of all celebrity or famous or high ranking people, it was her death that really touches and hurt me. Maybe because she is an extraordinary person; her approach is always active non-violence, one who exudes inner peace, a God-centered leader.... I know my description to her is so brief. But with happened to her, it clearly shows that she was a woman who have touched millions of people all over the world; A great leader who until her death was loved and supported by millions of Filipinos.

To you President Cory I’m offering this yellow ribbon as you go home to our Father.
