Sunday

It was a beautiful Sunday morning: it’s17 degrees outside and the wind was calm unlike the other past few days. I am glad that our manager gave me a Sunday off. I can’t remember when the last time I had a Sunday off was.

I decided to attend the mass besides it was mother’s day. As the mass almost ended I imagined my family back home. I miss the whole family. Sunday is always special to us - a family day. We attend Sunday services together. We sit in two or three rows of chair (as I always said we are one big happy family). And go home together... Usually we get together for Sunday lunch and/or until supper. And you just can’t imagine how loud our house is.

Last Sunday, it was only me sitting alone in the back row. My eyes were watery as the mass almost ended. I miss them so much. But seeing familiar faces in the church that became part of my life here in CA was somehow relieved my loneliness.

Close friends approached me (I didn’t noticed they were there then) and invited me for a brunch in a nearby restaurant owned by a Filipina. I don’t know why I said yes (I am not smart enough to say no and find bunch of reasons). Anyway, I need to socialize. My life goes around between work and home and few people. So I guess I made a good decision.

At the restaurant, the children of the owner gave each mom a carnation flower. So sweet of them and they look so cute with their “barong tagalog”. I am the only single female in the group yet they decided to give me one. It’s a beautiful flower why refuse? LOL

Anyway, it ended good, having the time to chat with some “kababayans” that I never had a chance to do. I need to do this often to boost my self-esteem.

The Ring Cloud

It’s beautiful outside; it’s 18 degrees Celsius! This morning I decided to just walk instead of requesting a ride from my colleague. It’s nice since I can breathe fresh air for a longer time [when it’s cold outside I don’t have a choice but to stay inside].
While walking going home, Mr. Sun was brightly shinning it’s hot but I love it. I can see even the seagulls are enjoying the weather as they circled up in the sky. When I look at them I noticed something odd in the sky. Besides few streaks of stratus clouds there is a ring cloud. Although it was so glaring I can see it’s almost perfect circle. It’s like a diamond ring as the sun intersects with the ring.
I wish I captured it whole but my iPhone capability was not able to do it. Just connect the pictures below to see what I mean.

Spring Time

Tulip-1

I know... I know I’m late to declare that it’s spring time already. It’s been weeks since I captured the new sign of life as these tulips start to grow.

Weather is getting better though sometimes it’s still chilly outside. I can see Mr. Sun for a longer time each day unless it rains. The problem is that sometimes I got confused with time because it’s too bright outside that you might think it’s still early.

I can’t wait till these tulips and other plants will fully grow and bear flowers and fruits. When I arrived here in Ca, it’s almost the end of summer and flowers are in full bloom but some are already starting to withered. So spring time gets me excited to experience as the plants slowly spread their leaves and will give life to the land that once covered with snow.

Delete it or Not?

I’m decided to delete this blog. I’m not updating it ‘coz simply I loss interest with it. But I know deleting it is unfair to the part of the advertisers who paid me to blog for a certain product. So I’m thinking of just leaving it.

It’s been more than a month since my last post. My Alexa rank is soaring high and my page rank remains zero. I only have 362 posts and 144 followers since August 2008. All these seem worthless to me… I no longer care...

Before leaving it, I decided to back read my old posts today. I realize those days that I’m so addicted with blogging than even at work I sneaked to blog and even dreaming about blogging.

I suddenly felt missing this blog that deleting or leaving this blog is no longer my option. And at the end of the day here I am in front of my laptop composing a new post for this blog.

Missing Them

Few nights to go and my sister will finally go home after more than 3 years of working here in Canada. Everybody is so excited especially my parents. But there are only four members of the family who know the exact date of her arrival.

The plan is my parents will hold a party at our house for the February birthday celebrators and my mother will give a lecture on goal setting (that’s my mom’s talent).. And then my BIL will fetch my sister at the airport. Probably they will arrive at our house in the middle of the party.

I can’t imagine what will their reactions are and how deafening the noise is when she arrives. You know we are one BIIIIIGGGG happy family – 19 nieces and nephews..... and counting.

On the other hand, I will be left alone. I felt lonely and truly, I miss my family badly. I’m planning to go back home next year when everything is okay.

I choose this path, thus I should stay strong.

The Year of Shit and Shift: Escaping, Surviving, and Searching for Peace

This year was nothing short of chaos—a year of shit and shift . We left, unprepared, from the place we called home for 14 years. We carrie...
