Blog Directory

I really have to work hard for my two blogs. The page ranks of these blogs already reached PR 2 and 3 unfortunately I was so busy last summer that I haven’t maintained it and it dropped back to zero. Now, I have difficulty in gaining higher page rank for both blogs.

I have read from an article that submitting blog to blog directory is one way to connect with different bloggers with the same interest as yours. They might give me a positive blog review for my sites and hopefully will help me to increase my traffic.

Saving

It’s almost one year since my mother retired from her job as an Education Supervisor. At first, it was hard for her for not receiving monthly salary. Especially those first four months after retirement when she was not able to get her pension from GSIS. (If you are working in the government office, I bet you know how GSIS process papers). Good thing she and my father invested a farm lot which supports their financial needs.

My mother would always remind us about the importance of saving money and investing. Coz we do not know what may come ahead. A saving of 1,000 peso per month is already 120,000 after 10 years. It’s just a matter of discipline.

To assure that you save at least 10% of what you have earned here’s a very simple formula: Salary – Savings = Expenses. Always keep in mind that what you earned is your salary least the savings. Do not overspend. Live with your means.

I know it can be tempting to withdraw what you have saved in the bank. Especially when you saw nice items that is on sale. And you will just make a promise that by the following month you’ll double the savings. I believe you will end up promising yourself every month to double it and after ten years you’ll be surprise you haven’t save the target amount. That’s why I suggest you put it in a time deposit account or if you invest it in a life insurance company. And much better if you do both, save some amount in the bank and some for the insurance company. This could be hard especially to those who doesn’t value saving. Just think this benefits you and your family!

Online Review for LET

Although I mentioned already about my online review before but I’d like to reiterate it as tips or advice to those who will take the board exam for teachers this September. Especially to those who are working and reviewing at the same time.

I searched for an online review before but unfortunately it doesn’t work in my computer because of some plug-ins that are missing. But I didn’t stop there instead I used the resources I could get from the world wide web. Remember internet is very rich in knowledge/facts/resources. But you also have to be careful in picking reliable sites since some are from personal point of view; not based on facts, Scientific evidences, or principles. And you could possibly land into websites that are misleading.

Anyways, In my case, since I major mathematics, I looked for an online Math review. And found some sites that are interactive with their online Math tutor. I tried it once as trial for the online tutoring. It’s effective way of learning, at the same time it’s fun. I wasn’t able to continue the interactive way of learning because of the time constraints. Instead I browsed some sites with Math problem solver where I could find ways or approach in solving math problems.

With the online Math help I was able to used my time wisely. I spent my free hours at work for reviewing Math and spent two hours at night for professional education and general education.

But remember when you really aim to pass the exam you have to focus yourself in reviewing, forget about the facebook or other social networks. I know it’s tempting but it really takes a lot of discipline in your part. During my review I take a vacation outside blogosphere…. But I also sneaked…. You know blogging is addictive. LOL…

I hope this will help. Good Luck!!!

Fire Prevention

It was hot midday; El NiƱo is getting worse here in Davao. As usual we are experiencing rotating brownout and it’s longer than the previous month. Thus when the light suddenly off one afternoon, it wasn’t new to me, only that afternoon something is unusual with the fluctuating current. The lights shut off by 12 noon but returns after a few minutes, then off then return. By two pm, the light totally shut off, but I’m wondering why the aircon was was still on…

Until I heard screams outside. The main switch was starting to spark. And everbody was in panicked; two of the fire extinguisher was not working, good thing there is a spare and was able to put the fire off on time.

The incident had thought me lessons:

1. There should be regular check up of electrical wirings of your house or buildings
2. Check the pressure gauge of the fire extinguisher regularly to ensure its functionality.
3. There should be training on how to use fire extinguisher and on how to put off the fire (such as you cannot use water on fire when the cause is faulty electrical wirings).
4. (Worst scenario) Make sure to insure your house or office buildings. If you’re not prepared for a long term insurance then temporary insurance will do.

These are just simple tips from me. Hope you learn something…
