Using environmentally safe materials that pose no threat to your family, the environment or to your pets, is also considered an important green remodeling factor. In short, anything that keeps a focus on being as natural as possible would be considered as a green remodeling job.

Simply call now or visit the Internet web site, and find out more about how to make your green renovation project a reality.

Nude Efffect Using Covergirl TruBlend Liquid Makeup

I received a Covergirl Trublend Liquid Makeup in Golden Beige M3 shade thru BzzAgent.

To be honest I am hesitant to use this product since I read a lot of reviews that it caused them skin breakouts. I’m scared because I’m prone to it. But I have to try it and deal with the problem later when it will exist.

First impression is that the shade I chose is too light for my skin color. I might look like a white lady. But surprisingly it is not. It actually blends well on my skin creating a nude effect. It doesn’t totally cover blemishes but somehow it lightens its appearance. It also minimizes the appearance of my pores.

My other concern about this product is that it might be oily. But actually not. As you blend the product to your skin it actually looks like you are applying powder.

Nude effect with Covergirl TruBlend Liquid Makeup

As of the breakout concern, well currently have some tiny pimples but I can’t really tell if its caused by the product or due to hormonal change. I will be using it daily and see  if it will cause any skin problem.

{Review} Covergirl Lashblast Fusion Mascara

So it's been a month since I used the Covergirl Lashblast Fusion Mascara. I've been talking about how great the product is through my social media accounts and my other blog. But I can't help myself write about it again here in Spices of My life.

Covergirl Lashblast Fusion Mascara has been my favorite among other mascaras I used. In fact it's the only mascara I used for the longest time. Why?

  • It enhances the look of my eyelashes.
  • It lengthens and volumizes my lashes which makes my tired-looking eyes livelier.
  • It doesn't smudge when I rub my lashes. Unless of course if my fingers are wet.
  • No clumps.

Look how it enhances the look of my eyes

The only cons I noticed with this mascara are as follows:
  • It doesn't hold curls. Or probably it's just my stubborn lashes.
  • The handle is quiet big. I have this awkward feeling when applying the mascara.
  • Brushes on the tip part are way too short, widely apart and the core circumference is quiet big which makes applying mascara to the lashes of the corner of my eyes harder.

It might not be the perfect mascara for me, but definitely I will consider buying it or will try other Covergirl Lashblast Mascara in the future.

Disclosure: I got Covergirl Lashblast Fusion Macara and discount coupons for free thru BzzAgent in exchange of my honest opinion.

Week 22: Laugh

I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.
~ Audrey Hepburn ~
I admire a person with  a smiling face simple because I am not gifted with it. Often people misinterpreted me as a grumpy woman. Nope I'm not! It's just my face. Thus I'd love to hang out with people who loves to smile and laugh often because I believe it's contagious. My sister, Jean, has this ability. She laughs even over small things. Our mother even came to the point on telling her to refine her voice, but it will only makes her laugh more and louder.

Being with her here in Canada is the greatest medicine to kill my loneliness and ease my anxieties. Her positive attitude radiates that influence me to think and act the same way. I may not laugh out loud like her but somehow, her presence made everything so light and easy.

Week 19: Act "As If"

"Begin with the end in mind"
"Things are created twice"

Those are the lines from Stephen Covey's popular book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" that my mother will always say when she conducted a seminar for personal growth or alike. In order for us to realize our dream we first create it in our mind, from then we are guided on what to do, meet people that will help achieve our plans and eventually reach the goals that we've been planning. In the said book, Stephen encourages his readers to create their mission statement - our blueprint.

Since when I was a child, I have seen so many people struggling to meet their daily needs. We are not rich, but I witness a lot of people coming into our house asking for financial help, and it happens almost everyday. It breaks my heart seeing them dying without even experiencing a luxurious life even for a day or at least eat three times a day and go to bed without worrying what to eat the following day. With that, it's been rooted in my mind to alleviate myself financially. It's been my mission to help other people.

Coming here in Canada is a blessing, I've helped some of my love ones and friends. But once again I am facing a challenge. In two months time my contract will end because of the changes of the immigration policies. My only hope is my application for residency but the chance is so slim to get it. Even though I have savings, I know it will only vanish if I don't manage it well. It worries me because I am going home jobless. How could I continue with my vision?

But again,  I am reminded not to loose hope and that wherever I go with God's guidance he will be with me. Recently, amidst all the anxieties I feel, I was able to create my vision. To build an empire, a business, a group of companies that will provide job especially to my relatives who are in need of job. I would like to see them being freed from poverty.

My vision is big, but I claim that I will achieve it. It's my way of realizing my mission of helping other people

Week 18: Dream Really BIG

I've been going through some emotional turmoil in life and and feel like I have no direction to go. Then I realized I have to act and never stop dreaming though the  future seems to vague at this time.

I recreated my dreams, my goals, and my vision in life through illustrations. I know I can simply cut picture of my dreams and have it pasted in my goal book (which I did for my other goals), but drawing makes me internalize more the goals in my life that I want  to achieve.

I believe visualization your dream will make it more achievable. It will conspire all the positive energies in the universe to make all these goals in life into a reality.

Duties of a Paralegal

Working as a paralegal often means that you are behind the scenes in the attorney's office, but you are still an integral part of the legal system. One of the things that you should know how to do as a New York paralegal is typing. You also need to be able to organize notes and keep up with all of the cases for the attorney.

Your key function as a paralegal will be to do research on the cases so that the attorney can prepare for court. You will need to look up information about statutes and possible defenses that can be used in the case. Make sure the facts that you find are written down correctly, and if you find something that is helpful as the case gets started, you need to make sure the information is revealed. Another important part of the job is interviewing clients. You will find out about why they need an attorney and direct them as to how the attorney can help. While in the office, you will draft documents, type notes that are taken in court and file papers for later use by the attorney. Answering phone calls and making appointments for clients is also part of the job.

Week 16: Create Sacred Place

Renting a house limits your ability to create a space called your own. Especially if you are renting with somebody. Lucky I have my own bedroom which I called my sanctuary. It is where I can be myself whether on my crazy days, moody days or happy days. It has witness my ups and downs. It is where I can be creative and unwind.

It is always part of my goal, that when I build my own house there should be a special place for me where I can create, read books and meditate. A place that I can call my own.

Week 15: Clean Up Your Closet

It's spring cleaning time! One of my goal is to get rid of the chunky jackets out from my cabinet. it's time for them to be packed and hid. Aside from that I need to clean my closet and segregate which one is needed and not. I have bunch of black dresses that I don't really wear but still in my closet. I think cleaning up the closet will give more space to new one. Or I actually don't need lots of clothes considering that I am working full time and I don't really associate outside from work and house. I know I am a "one kind of boring person".

Week 14: Keep Journal

The start of April wasn't good for me in terms of my love life. I can feel coldness in between me and my bf. He has too many excuses that lead me to doubt everything. But instead of confronting him, I started to write a journal. It's my way of expressing my thoughts because I am not the type of person who shares my woes to others. I believe talking to him and accusing something will worsen the situation, thus pouring my emotions to a notebook.

At the same time, I do Bible target reading. It was surprising, because at these times of trouble God comforted me through His words. It's amazing how the scriptures answers my daily questions and slowly heals me.

Week 13: Get Lost in A Good Book

Reading book is one way of de-stressing myself. It is something that brings me in another dimension of the world; something where I can find answers when advises from friends and families won't work; something where I can learn and grow to be a better person.

I am lucky enough that I was able to get in to BookLook Bloggers, where I mainly get my books to read in exchange of review. Over a year I learned a lot from the books I read: my spiritual life strengthen and I understood life better which makes me more mature. And I cried rivers of tears  and laughed like crazy reading from real life stories. Getting lost in a good book can be crazy but relaxing.

Recently I am reading the book "Whatever the Cost" by David and Jason Benham. It is all about how strong their faith whatever hurricanes in life they've been through. It is a book that made me decide to fully trust in Him... all I need is to surrender everything unto Him. (You can find my thoughts about the book here).

Week 11: Look for Magic and Miracles

I am getting bored with my life here in Canada. My life goes around with the workplace and our house. And I don't really have a circle of friend to go to whenever I want, something that made me  miss my hometown.

Lately, I was thinking with my previous workmate who became a friend. She may not be my best work buddy but I like her as someone whom I can easily talk to. I am planning to visit her, but my timidity forces me to stay my comfort zone.

But call it magic or coincidence, that friend showed up in my workplace which was far from my expectation. Seeing and talking to her indeed was like a miracle just happened.

Week 10: Unplug to Recharge

Do you ever get tired reading and looking your Facebook feed? I do. Although Facebook is a great medium to stay connected with friends and families, it could also harm your ego. Maybe not you, but it's true to me. I know it's a sin to get envy with others but I can't help but pity on myself whenever I see post of my friends with their achievements. It will only make myself compare to them no matter how I convince myself that them too has issues in life to handle.

Another thing with social media, specifically Facebook, there are just too many negative things buzzing around online: sex, accidents caught on camera, personal status that is actually insignificant and so on.

I admit there are so many things I learned and discovered through social media. One of the reasons why I cannot delete my account. But I've deactivated my Facebook account countless times but found myself reactivated it.

When I found myself feeling depress with others success (I know this way is a BIG mistake), I simply stop looking my account. I actually deleted the app on my phone so that I am not tempted to read feeds. But when I feel like I accepted the fact and just be happy for others then that's the time I open my Account.

Sometimes we need to unplug our self, especially if we are fed-up with so many things. I think this is one of the best way to recharge.

Week 9: Go with the Flow

I was emotional last night. It could be the hormone... you know PMSing. But this is what goes in my mind: I asked god why fate seems betraying me. It is all against to what I have planned for. It feels like God neglected me and not hearing what I want in my life.

Right away He answered me through the video from ANC.yahoo.com, "5 Steps to Start Your Career". Since my mind and heart are clouded with negativity, it causes me not to attract the positive vibrations (forget about the Law of Attraction). So while waiting for my Aha! moment, I will go with the flow BUT I will form a different habit. To do this, I will recharge myself and get rid of the negativity with this activity for 21 days:

  1. Every morning write down 3 things that make you grateful. This teaches your brain the habit of positive scanning.
  2. Write in your journal a  positive experience in the last 24 hours. This way you relive it.
  3. Exercise: It teaches your brain that behavior matters.
  4. Meditate. You learn to focus on a single task at hand despite the distraction.
  5. Do random act of kindness.
As it says from the video creating this habit "Attracts positivity. It unlocks your potential".

Two Things To Look For In An Online News Company

These days, more and more people are going online to get their news. If you're in search of high quality news you can trust to be accurate and interesting, there are several things you should be looking for in the online news company. Here are two:

1. An Established Brand.

If you're serious about getting high quality online news, be sure that you're going to a source that has an established brand. This means that the company should have been around for a while and, over the course of those years, should have developed a strong reputation as a good news source with a positive public image. If you're into the world of urban entertainment and politics, consider a company like the EUR/Electronic Urban Report. This company launched in 1997 and has been offering excellent coverage of the aforementioned topic areas ever since. Click here (www.eurweb.com) to learn more about this dynamic company.

2. Accuracy In Reporting.

When it comes to getting the news, it's important that you be able to trust the source to offer you accurate, true information. For this reason, you should steer clear of any online news sources that have been caught fabricating information. Stick to online news sources that have maintained a reputation for offering true, verifiable information in a very factual format.

Conclusion

If you're into getting your news online, make the most of this preference by finding the most ideal sources from which to obtain the latest updates. By looking for the aforementioned characteristics in an online news source, you'll be sure to attain the high quality coverage you want.

Week 8: Be Flexible

In Instagram alone, you can view thousands of great pictures of arts from different artists across the globe. Sometimes it's overwhelming but you can also get inspiration from other artists. Other than that, Instagram and sites alike are great sources to update your style and go with the trend. thus, the importance of flexibility.

Recently, I'm going gaga over modern calligraphy. The art of writing with the flourishes dances around the words makes the word fascinating. And it will even look more magical with the splashes of colors.

Thus, for this month of March, I will start practicing modern calligraphy and incorporate it with watercolors.

Week 7: Play... Create... Explore

Almost all creativity involves purposeful play
~Abraham Maslow~

When I create with polymer clay, I usually call it playing with clay. For me it brings back my childhood days with playing dough. Same with painting, playing with brushes gives much fun to me. And as I explore with these mediums, discovering something new is like an "aha!" moment... a reward and like a lifetime achievement.

And I think I have  to level up! I want to venture in freelancing to use  the creative juices that is overflowing in me. I think it's time for me tell the world that I have the skills, the talents... enough for hibernating... enough for my timidity.

That's why I bought the "Creative, Inc.: The Ultimate Guide to Running a Successful Freelance Business" by Meg Mateo Ilasco and Joy Deangdeelert Cho. The success stories of freelancers featured in this book are really inspiring. It is really great to do the things that you love because it is more about playing than working and gives you a satisfaction which I believe is a key to happiness.

Week 6: Get Nurtured with Nature

It's been a while since the last time I walked home. January and February are always the worst time for winter. But today, I am taking advantage of the good weather. I walked instead of calling somebody for a ride.

The not so cold breeze of the air is so refreshing, as if it cleanses my lungs which was deprived from the fresh air since winter started. And finally my skin is showered by the sun rays.

I can't wait for summer where I can spend more time outside.

Week 5: Let You Heart Lead You

The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart. ~Helen Keller

I kept on planning but I ended up frustrated, because usually things ended up not the way I want it to be. I came to the point where I just say whatever.....quesera, sera.. whatever willl be, will be. The future 's not ours to see.

Or surrender everything to God for He knows what is best for me. But for those times that I cannot find God's answer to my questions I just listen to my heart, although usually it debates with my mind, but my heart usually prevails because it is with the feeling that tells you what's the best for you.

Week 4: Meditate

Back in high school we only made fun with our teacher who taught us meditation. I didn't know that I would need and would actually practice it.

Deep breathing is a common way of meditation.  But one meditation that is easier for me to practice is through painting. It feels like I am in lost  of connection with my surrounding as I play the brushes on the paper and strokes the color on it. And it is best if there is a background music to listen.

Painting soothes and calms me. And the best thing is that at the end of the meditation I was able to create a beautiful piece that helps boost my happiness.

The Good Things To Consider When Purchasing A Guitar

There are numerous factors for consideration when purchasing a guitar that. The size of the instrument must be taken into consideration. A person must feel comfortable with the way that the instrument seals in their hands. The size of the amplification devices needed to make the guitar sound good it is also important to think about prior to making the purchase. The price of the item is also an important consideration for people who are trying to follow their musical passion on a budget.

Style

The visual appearance of the guitar must be taken into consideration. If the person is comfortable with a more modern style musical instrument they may want to purchase something small. If they are looking to do live events they may be more interested in the electric style instrument. The salesperson will often be able to help a person finds the best fretless bass guitars in the store.

Size

Many people underestimate the importance of having the right size musical instrument. It has to fit in their hands comfortably so that they can play without interruption. The more comfortable a person needs with their musical instrument the easier it will be for them to connect with their audience when they are playing. Finding the right instrument is all about making sure that it is a comfortable fit.

Amplification

This type of amplifier that is needed in order to make the instrument sound amazing is also something to think about carefully before making the purchase. Sometimes the amplifier is more expensive than the actual instrument. Working with a salesperson to find the right instrument is usually advisable.

Week 3: Unleashing the Child in Me

Week 3 is about the inner child in me. Following the advice from the book "Imagine the Life You'd Love to Live, then Live It"  by Peg Conley, writing using your nondominant hand will help you liberate your inner self.

This exercise recover the inner child in me. A vivid recollection of my childhood art activity. I remember I was writing characters hard to understand by adults but for me I was writing letters, words, phrases... written beautifully using different colored pens.

But aside from that, this activity has a great impact on me. as I wrote repeatedly the phrase "Continue doing good things and you will be okay" (actually the original is will be blessed)I remember when I was still new at our work place, I do not know nothing about the job. I was secretly bullied. But I strive to do better and was encourage by a stranger whom I called an angel named Glenda who left that beautiful message.

I know I've been proud at work and feels like I know everything. But today I remember I should keep my feet on the ground and should always remind myself to continue doing good things.

Week 2: Take A Class

Last week I got an email through Seminar Philippine subscription inviting readers to join Sha Nacino's writing workshop. I am tempted... really tempted to join the class. That time I didn't care much about the fee because I do believe it will benefit me since part of my bucket list is to write a bestselling book.

But I procrastinate until  the deadline for enrolment was over. I wish I had my boyfriend's aggressive character then I probably enrolled the moment I feel the urge of joining the class. On the other hand, there are so many things that I need to practice, learn and hone my skills. That includes Photoshop, digital design, sketching, fashion illustration, water color and lately calligraphy. I just can't stop "the Jack-of-all trade" in me. I guess I should stop browsing Instagram and Pinterest.

And since I don't want to spend at this point of time knowing that there is a possibility that I will go home without job, I am taking class through free tutorials online. One day at a time I kwow I will be able to hone my skills.

Week 1: Imagine

All successful people, men and women, are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.
- BRIAN TRACY - Universal Laws of Success

IMAGINE... If I could picture out what would be a perfect life, for me it's to be near with my family. Being near with them gives me a total happiness.

But oh! Canada, please don't let me go home yet!

If only money isn't an issue then I wouldn't be working here in this very cold country living a very boring life. Sometimes I wonder how my other siblings live so miserably. They are professional, working in the government but they are living pay check to pay check more often not enough for their needs and to the point their children suffer from too much poverty. If only I have lots of money then I will give them an investment to build a business where they can earn more money. But the question is, are they reliable to handle business?

Thus, my biggest dream is to create a business where I can involve family members. A business close to my heart is about crafting, decorating, or something that we can use our creative skills especially that we are family who loves art but wasn't hone enough. Yes we do have untapped skills given by God and need to be share.

Aside from that, I want to write a book. I may not be good in writing (for now). But I have this feeling that I could be a best-selling author. I just want to claim it. I believe I have the skill to write. I was a creative story teller to my nephews and nieces when they were young and I want to share it through a book and make illustrations of it.

I want to be a great artist. I want to draw... to paint.... to burst colors in my so boring life. And someday be recognized internationally.

Then I want to meet Bo Sanchez and be a member his circle. Bo is one of my favorite authors. And since I joined Truly Rich Club, I learned a lot and inspired by the daily message through God Whispers send to my inbox. TRC taught me so many things not just about inspiration but feeding my knowledge about finances.

And about personal matters, I envision myself walking down the aisle while my man is waiting in the altar. It's been a long engagement already... good thing we can still both hold on. Call it LOVE! I believe this is the year. Hopefully...

52 Aha! - A Journey to a Life I Vision

I was digging my old post, and I noticed I am not really good in finishing a goal. I am only good at the beginning. Perhaps a daily post is not really doable especially that I can't be online everyday.

I read a book, "Imagine the Life You'd Love to Live, then Live It", by Peg Conley. 52 inspiring ideas to help you develop new habits and discipline to love a life that you are dreaming of. I believe it is perfect to challenge myself to create a new habit by practicing the tips that the author laid in every chapter.

I will document my journey in this blog, one chapter every week for a year. Hopefully, after week 52 I will be able to see a different path - one that will favor me.

All About Sansa

I haven't talk so much about our dog, Sansa. I think I've only mentioned about her in this blog twice only. Well I guess from now on Sansa will be part of this blog. Just to let know she grows up into a sweet monster - big, hyper but so sweeeet.

Sansa

She turned 1 last October, but still acts like a puppy. They said usually Sansa's breed matured at age of two. Aside from playing balls she also loves stuff toys. But with her large fangs, just imagined how many stuffed toys she ruined.

Sansa, the pet dog

Although, Sansa is an outdoor dog. We decided to let her stay inside our house because of the harsh weather condition here in Alberta. Good thing she's potty trained now.
